A Blue Moon Rises Over Edgemere

As many of you know, last night's full moon was a seasonal Blue Moon—defined as the third full moon in a single season (in this case, summer, or from the summer solstice to the fall equinox).

A monthly Blue Moon occurs when there are two full moons in a single month, as occurred in Aug. 2012.

I took this photo of last night's Blue Moon from my backyard on the North Point peninsula.
