Baltimore Blast Begins Defense of MISL Title Nov. 16
The Major Indoor Soccer League released its 2013-14 regular-season schedule Monday.
The reigning Major Indoor Soccer League champion Baltimore Blast will begin the defense of its 2012-13 title against the Rochester Lancers on Nov. 16.
The MISL released its 2013-14 regular-season schedule Monday. The season will kick off Nov. 15 and end March 2, according to a statement from the league.
The Blast will kick off its title defense on the road.
Each of the seven MISL clubs will play 20 games, with 10 at home and 10 on the road, according to the statement.
Playoffs begin March 7, and the championship series is scheduled to begin March 14.
This past season, nearly 400,000 fans attended MISL regular season games, making it the second consecutive season the league enjoyed a significant attendance increase, according to league officials.
The Baltimore Blast is owned by Edgemere native Ed Hale, the former CEO of First Mariner Bank. The team's administrative headquarters are in Edgemere and the players practice at the Northeast Regional Recreation Center in Parkville.
The team plays its home games at the Baltimore Arena, formerly known as 1st Mariner Arena.
