BCPS Families Can Learn About Investing In Stock Market Game
The Stock Market Game is free to participants and runs from April 5 to June 4.
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Families of Baltimore County Public Schools’ students are invited to participate, free of charge, in The Stock Market Game, from April 5 to June 4. The activity is offered to BCPS families by BCPS Parent University in partnership with First Financial Federal Credit Union, which is covering all team fees, and the Maryland Council on Economic Education.
The Stock Market Game teaches the importance of saving and investing. Family teams invest a hypothetical $100,000 in listed stocks, bonds and mutual funds and learn the value of the capital markets as they work together to maximize the return of their portfolios.
“We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to our families,” Susan Hahn, program specialist and coordinator of Parent University, said in a news release. “This is a unique learning activity that teaches important lessons about economics."
