COVID Causes Dundalk, Other BCPS Schools To Move Online

DUNDALK, MD — Students at Dundalk High School will not return to class this week even when the roads are cleared and school resumes after Monday's winter storm. That's because of a risk of high COVID-19 transmission, Baltimore County Public School officials noted.

Dundalk High School joins numerous other Baltimore County schools that will switch to fully virtual instruction for this week after winter break due to COVID-19. Other schools are partially closed schools. Sollers Point Technical High School, which shares a building with Dundalk High School, will still hold in-person classes this week unless officials change their minds.

A total of 28 of the system’s 178 schools will be offering online classes only this week, spurred by a statewide rise in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, and a growing testing positivity rate.
