North Point Village Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash

Craig Wesley Hughes Jr., 27, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Peninsula Expressway crash, authorities said.

A North Point Village man was killed early Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on Peninsula Expressway, police said.

Craig Wesley Hughes Jr., 27, of the 7800 block of St. Gregory Road, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:59 a.m. Aug. 25, according to Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher.

Police responded to the scene after receiving a call about the crash at about 1:54 a.m.

Hughes was driving his Yamaha R6 motorcycle northbound on Peninsula Expressway at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the bike near Chesterwood Road, according to the spokeswoman.

Hughes was thrown from the motorcycle and he and the bike crashed into a guardrail.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, police said.
