UPDATE: Rutland Road in Davidsonville Closed Until 2 p.m. Tuesday

Update, 11:40 a.m.: Rutland Road in Davidsonville, between Lavall Drive and Route 450 will remain closed until 2 p.m. Tuesday, according the Anne Arundel County of Public Works.

AACPW confirms that a pole was struck in an accident on the road early Tuesday morning. The road will remain closed while BGE completes necessary repairs.

Original story, 8:30 a.m.: A traffic accident Monday morning has closed part of Rutland Road in Davidsonville, between Lavall Drive and Route 450, according to an alert sent by Anne Arundel County police. 

The alert was sent just after 7 a.m. Monday morning, advising a portion of Rutland Road would be closed for two to four hours due to a traffic accident. According to police, a vehicle struck a telephone pole, and BGE is currently on the scene making repairs.

Police suggest Davidsonville Road—Route 424—as an alternate between Route 50 and Route  450.
