ATV Wreck In South County Sends 16-Year-Old Girl To Shock Trauma: Police
A car hit a girl riding an ATV across the road in Lothian, police said. The 16-year-old went to shock trauma with life-threatening injuries.

LOTHIAN, MD — A car hit a girl driving an all-terrain vehicle across a Lothian roadway on Wednesday, county police announced. Officers said the 16-year-old girl was airlifted to shock trauma with life-threatening injuries.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. in the 800 block of Mount Zion Marlboro Road. Authorities said two dark-colored ATVs left a private driveway and drove east, crossing over the public street.
The first ATV crossed without any collisions, but police said a 2017 Honda Civic heading south on Mount Zion Marlboro Road hit the second ATV.

Officers said the impact ejected the driver of the second ATV. That ATV came to a rest on the right side of the roadway.
Authorities said the car came to a controlled stop, and its driver was not hurt.

Medics flew the injured girl to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, a press release said.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
