Captain Avery Museum Director Resigns

Jeff Holland has been serving as the museum's director for less than a year.

The Board of Directors of the Captain Avery Museum in Shady Side have announced its search for a new director last week, following the resignation of current museum director Jeff Holland. 

“The Museum has appreciated the programs Jeff began in the short time he has been Executive Director. We wish Jeff every success," Board Chair Prue Hoppin said in a statement.

Holland, who has been serving as the museum's director for eight months, will leave the position at the end of the year, according to the statement. He was recently hired to to helm West/Rhode Riverkeeper, reported The Capital GazetteHolland will replace Chris Trumbauer who left West/Rhode Riverkeeper to take a job at The Hatcher Group in November, where he serves as Director of State and Environmental Initiatives. 

The museum board is looking for someone with grant management, donor cultivation, communications, program oversight and other experience to fill the director position. For the full job description, click here
