Cardinal Hickey Academy Gives the Gala a New Spin

Cardinal Hickey Academy (CHA), is a K-8th grade private Catholic school and Montessori preschool in Owings, Maryland. The cost to provide a Catholic education to families in our community exceeds the tuition families pay. The school holds fundraisers each year to assist with school operational expenses.

Typically, at the CHA Annual Gala, the school’s largest fundraising event, a guest would sit at a glamorous sit-down dinner surrounded by extensive decorations. Fancy attire, a toast and plated meal with all the trimmings are common traditions.

This year, the school hopes to attract a larger crowd including Catholic education supporters and those wanting something new to do on the weekend. At the Casino Night themed Gala, guests can expect a more casual experience with excitement at every turn on the hour. The Casino brings the thrill of playing real casino games in a casino atmosphere while having the chance to win awesome prizes. This comes without the unpleasant side effects of real gaming and losing real money. $500 in play money/chips comes with admission and can be played at any of the nine gaming tables. The winner with the most chips at the end of the event is crowned Chip Champion!

The popular silent auction has attractive items such as vacations, computer tablets and more! Raffle winners of larger prizes such as a slot machine, will be announced throughout the night. The winning hand in the Black Jack Tournament receives a prize! Guests can take their chances at the Wine Pull or enjoy a craft brew from Calvert Brewing Company.

Affordable Tickets ($50 each) include play money, food and drink. Tickets can be purchased at CHA2018GALA.WEEBLY.COM. Donations and sponsorships may also be made online or mailed to the school.
