Crofton Council Distributes $550,000 to Local Nonprofits

The Davidsonville athletic building fund was one of the beneficiaries of funds set aside from an agreement with a local developer.

Last week, the Greater Crofton Council distributed more than $550,000 to 26 local groups, including the Davidsonville athletic building fund and Davidsonville family and recreation.

The group handed out checks totaling $554,500, eight years after striking a deal with a developer.

The money for nonprofit groups stemmed from an agreement struck in 2005 with the Coscan/Adler Limited Partnership, developer of the Enclave at Riedel Pond. Money could not be distributed until deeds to the plots were received only recently.
