Early Runs Propel Seahawks to Victory Against Annapolis

South River's varsity baseball team shut the door early on Annapolis High on Tuesday, earning a 12-0 victory in five innings at their .

An RBI single by Scott Mitchell in the first inning, errors and a two-run single by Bryan Shores in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Seahawks. It was a good day at the plate for South River's Brody Raimondo who tripled in the fourth inning.
Pierce Tyrrell recorded the win for South River in his first varsity start. He pitched three shutout innings against Annapolis and struck out two, walked two and surrendered only one infield hit.

Annapolis was unable to make good contact against reliever Austin Wright. Wright held Annapolis hitless over two innings, allowed no runs, walked one and struck out five.
Brody Raimondo tripled and Connor Cox doubled. Joe Scott, Shores, Nick Raimondo, Mitchell and Leo Donovan each got singles for South River.

South River's varsity boys lacrosse team takes on at 5 p.m. Wednesday away from home. They are currently undefeated against county competition, having scored 48 goals and only conceded eight times.
The varsity girls lacrosse started the season strong but they're currently in the middle of a two-game losing streak. They easily defeated Broadneck, North County and Meade High schools, but then lost two games in the Notre Dame Prep lacrosse tournament.
The girls head to for a game at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The South River varsity tennis squad will host Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., hoping to add more wins to the season after winning its first two matches against Calvert and North Point high schools.
