Edgewater Navy SEAL Killed in Afghanistan
Patrick D. Feeks, 28, died when his helicopter crashed while fighting insurgents in a remote part of southern Afghanistan.

A Navy SEAL from Edgewater died last week when his helicopter crashed while fighting insurgents in southern Afghanistan, according to the Associated Press (AP).
The SEAL, identified as Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Patrick D. Feeks, was killed along with seven other Americans and four Afghans during the helicopter crash in Kandahar, Afghanistan, according to AP.
A U.S. Navy press release stated that Feeks, 28, was at the time, assigned to a West Coast-based naval special warfare unit.

Feeks is the second local man to die during military service. On Memorial Day, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
Following his death, the community rallied to support the , held at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship in Davidsonville.
