Five Guys Hosts Fundraiser for SPCA

The is hosting a special fundraiser Thursday night for the SPCA of Anne Arundel County.

From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. all throughout the county, Five Guys locations will donate 20 percent of their earnings from orders specified to support the .

Even though several Five Guys are having the fundraiser, only the Edgewater and Pasadena locations will have a special SPCA merchandize table. There, patrons can purchase items to support the organization that works to provide shelter, food and medical care to thousands of homeless animals.

Mindy Nelson, fundraising coordinator for the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, said special events such as this are the only way the organization gains money for operation costs.

“It does not receive any funding, including government funding and must rely on the generosity of community members and businesses,” Nelson told Patch in an email.

In order ensure your money goes towards the SPCA, specify that you’re eating at Five Guys to support the organization, Nelson said.
