Wounded Vet Fundraiser to Honor Fallen Navy SEAL's Family

UPDATE (1:40 p.m.)—The family of fallen Navy SEAL Patrick Feeks is being honored during a special fundraiser Wednesday night to support wounded veterans.

On Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Cadillac Ranch in Annapolis, residents are invited to help veterans through the Annapolis-based Connected Warrior Foundation (CWF). The event will raise money to help soldiers fighting overseas as well as show support for the Feeks family.

“The goal of Annapolis-based nonprofit CWF is connection—both human and technological and the provision of much-needed support and resources. CWF funds programs, raises awareness and supports activities to empower wounded veterans and improve their quality of life,” according to an official flier posted by the CWF.

The event on Wednesday, sponsored and hosted by the CWF, will honor the Feeks and the memory of their loved one. The 28-year-old Feeks died while serving in Afghanistan in August when his helicopter crashed while fighting insurgents.

One Wednesday, the Feeks are hoping residents will head to the Annapolis restaurant for ugly holiday sweaters and enjoy a night of food and drink specials, with proceeds going to the CWF. A close family friend told Patch Feeks’ widow will also be flying in from California to participate in the event.

Those planning the event ensured that 100 percent of the proceeds from the “Ugly Sweater Happy Hour” will go toward Feeks Fire and the CWF.
