Fatal Crash In Anne Arundel County Claims 78-Year-Old Man: Police

A fatal crash in Anne Arundel County claimed a 78-year-old man, police said. Medics pronounced the Lothian victim dead on the scene.

LOTHIAN, MD — A fatal crash claimed a 78-year-old driver Wednesday in Lothian, county police said.

Officers identified the victim as Ronald Wayne Talbert of Lothian.

Authorities said the crash happened around 4:15 p.m. on Southern Maryland Boulevard, also known as Maryland Route 4, at Lower Pindell Road.

A 2018 Ford F-550 truck was heading south on Route 4 at Lower Pindell Road when it hit Talbert's sedan, police said.

Officers said Talbert was trying to cross Route 4 onto Lower Pindell Road in a 2009 Honda Civic.

Medics pronounced Talbert dead on the scene, authorities said. The Ford driver was not hurt, and he refused medical treatment from first responders.

Officers did not speculate what caused the crash.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating. Cpl. J. Walker is handling the investigation. The case number is 2022-735240.
