The Washington Capitals have nominated South River High's ice hockey team for its "game of the week," potentially earning the squad special coverage for their matchup with Thomas Stone High on Jan. 11.

South River High’s ice hockey team is one of the featured nominees in The Washington Capitals’ “game of the week” voting contest.
On Jan. 11, the Seahawks face off against Thomas Stone High, and if you vote for their matchup as the game of the week, the contest will be covered by the NHL’s Washington Capitals.
In partnership with the “Caps” and the Maryland Student Hockey League, whichever matchup gets the most votes on the official website will earn a high-production digital segment on the NHL team's website—featuring highlights, analysis and a lot more.

Special “Caps” personalities including their mascot Slapshot, the Red Rockers and NHL alumni will also be in attendance for the winning matchup.
Voting runs now until Monday at 5 p.m., so vote now! There are no limitations on the number of times you can vote, either.
