How to Prune a Grape Vine
A Harwood winemaker explains how grape vines are pruned each year.
Dough Heimbuch, who owns Thanksgiving Farm Winery in Harwood with wife Maureen, explains how to prune a grape vine. Once planted, vines take about three years to mature and produce enough grapes for wine, according to Heimbuch. The first vines were planted on Thanksgiving Farm in the late 1990s.
