Letter to the Editor: Don't Follow Police Choppers

Lt. John Sweeney of the Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department wrote a special message to Patch asking residents to avoid shining lights at police helicopters.

The following message was submitted by Lt. John Sweeney of the to be shared with residents in Edgewater, Davidsonville and neighborhoods throughout south county.

Folks we know everyone likes seeing a helicopter land. We witnessed this first hand this morning [at South River High].

When at night please do not come into a parking lot while a helicopter is landing or on the ground. Headlights from vehicles blind the pilot!
