Local Irish Dance Academy Hosting Classes at Library

The will demonstrate Irish reels, jigs, slip jigs and hornpipes at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the South County Library in Deale.

We will learn about the history of Irish Step Dancing and explore the music, costumes, and intricate footwork of this exciting form of dance. We will also learn a jig step or two! The classes are for all age groups. 

The academy offers Irish Dance classes for dancers from beginner through championship levels on Thursdays in Galesville. Currently, classes are available for dancers in elementary through high school. 

Whether your dancer is interested in dance for fitness and cultural enrichment or interested in competing, this event at the South County Library is a great opportunity to find out more about this exciting and unique dance form.

O’Grady Quinlan Academy is under the direction of Joanie Feeney Ohrt, TCRG.  Joanie is certified and registered with Joanie, registered with An Comisiun le Rinci Gaelacha (Dublin, Ireland) and a member the Southern Region of the Irish Dance Teachers of North America.
