Repo Agent Struck With Bat While Seeking Mobile Home In Edgewater

Anne Arundel County Police have taken a man into custody after an incident at an auto body shop Friday afternoon.

Anne Arundel County Police said a man attempting to repossess a mobile home suffered minor injuries Friday after he was struck with a bat at an auto body shop in Edgewater.

At around 3 p.m. on Friday, police responded to the Premier Collision Center on Central Avenue for a reported assault, according to Lt. James Fredericks of the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Fredericks said APD Recovery—a vehicle recovery company based out of Baltimore—sent two recovery agents to tow an empty mobile home that was being stored, but not serviced, at Premier Collision Center.

Fredericks said when the agents arrived to the auto body shop, they were confronted by a Premier Collision Center employee whose mother owned the empty mobile home. The employee struck one of the agents with a bat, according to Fredericks.

The agent suffered minor injuries, and the employee was arrested, Fredericks said.

Fredericks said the charges were still being processed Friday evening, and a name has not yet been released. The man will be charged with first- and second-degree assault, Fredericks said.
