Managed Deer Hunt Scheduled for Triton Park Thursday
The hunt is part of the county's efforts to control the deer population.
The Anne Arundel County Department of Parks and Recreation is holding a managed deer hunt Thursday in the area of Beverly Triton Park (Mayo).
The hunt will take place from 5:30 a.m. to noon, and is not open to the public. Though the county generally accepts applications for its managed hunt program on a continuous basis, the program is at capacity for the 2013-2014 season, according to the website.
"The primary goal is to manage an overabundant deer population. Hunters are strongly urged to harvest as many antlerless deer as they can take safely and humanely," according to the county parks and recreation website.
