An Arnold man faces drug-trafficking charges after Anne Arundel County police reportedly found almost $10,000 in cash, a pound of marijuana, 6.8 grams of marijuana wax and digital scales at his home. The search and arrest came after police received numerous complaints of drug activity occurring in recent months near 395 Kings College Dr. in Arnold.

Westbound US 40 was closed to traffic on the morning of Thursday, March 16 due emergency response at an area building near Patapsco State Park. Firefighters were called to a basement fire at the building in the 8000 block of Baltimore National Pike, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services. The blaze reportedly occurred at Brown's Motel.

Dog Saved Owners From Bel Air Blaze: Fire Marshal

A service dog had alerted the residents of the home — a hearing-impaired couple — that the smoke alarm sounded at 7:01 p.m. Two cats perished in the house fire, while the couple suffered smoke inhalation and a firefighter had fallen through the floor. Forty firefighters from Bel Air, Abingdon, Joppa-Magnolia and Fallston responded to the alarm before bringing the blaze under control within 20 minutes.

3 Drivers Injured By Flying Ice On Area Roads: Maryland State Police

Authorities are asking people to clear off their vehicles since several drivers were injured March 15 due to flying ice. Ice has reportedly flown off vehicles on Interstates 95 and 495, according to the Maryland State Police from the College Park barrack. Police also reported drivers suffering eye injuries when ice flew into the drivers' windshields from other vehicles, spraying glass into their faces.

A the University of Maryland student has been given the chance to have his shoe design manufactured and sold at Foot Locker stores around the world if he wins the 2017 Pensole World Sneaker Championship. Joe Carson, 21, progressed to the next round of the World Sneaker Championship and is now competing against 31 other contestants in the top 32.
