New Cupcake Shop Coming to Edgewater

A brand new cupcake shop is opening in Edgewater, offering residents yet another option to satisfy their sweet tooth right here in town.

The shop, known as LilyRose Cakes, Cupcakes & Confections, has a large "Opening Soon" banner that stretches across the small strip mall on Mayo Road, across from Edgewater Fitness.

While its doors are not yet open to the public, a quick glance through its glass windows shows a quaint little shop with a sofa, some cabinets and an impressive cake already inside. Located at 8 Mayo Rd., the new business’ colors seem to be purple and an off-white cream color.

LilyRose’s Facebook page doesn’t provide a lot of information, but does show employees working hard to paint the inside of the shop and renovate its interior. Patch tried calling the business several times, but was unable to reach someone with the shop.

While Patch couldn’t learn when exactly the new shop would open its doors to the public, one thing is for sure; south county cupcake lovers will no longer have to drive to Annapolis if they want a miniature-cake delight.
