Photo of the Day: 'Hey' 2.0

The mechanics at the Edgewater Service Center updated their sign following last week's "Hey."

The mechanics at the Edgewater Service Center on Solomons Island Road cleverly left their store sign a little blank last week as a way to attract attention.

It worked.

After seeing what I thought was a neglected sign that comically read "Hey," I posted it as the "photo of the day" on Sept. 24. However, in the days that followed, I learned the center staff actually left it relatively blank on purpose to pique customer interest.

One employee wrote in the comments, "I got the response I wanted from a few customers, asking what is the sign saying? I just wanted to get comments to see if they indeed paid attention to the signage."

I'm glad Edgewater-Davidsonville Patch can help local businesses get some attention, but I feel used. OK, only slightly.
