EDGEWATER, MD — When two pickup trucks passed close enough on an Edgewater road for their exterior mirrors to tangle, one driver appeared to threaten the other with a knife, Anne Arundel County Police said.

The hit-and-run crash was reported about 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of Mill Swamp Road and Muddy Creek Road in Edgewater. Officers said two pickup trucks were traveling in opposite directions on Mill Swamp Road and as they passed each other, the driver’s side rear-view mirrors on the trucks collided.

The drivers stopped, one of the drivers got out of their truck, showed a knife, and threatened the other driver, a police report said. The armed driver then got back into his truck and continued south on Muddy Creek Road.
