Southern High Future Farmers Rank 2nd at Nationals
The national Future Farmers of America competition was held in Louisville, KY.

What's makes a good horse? Just ask Michaela Pyles, Sierra Criste, Brooke Catterton, Kelly Poe, members of Southern High Schools Future Farmers of America.
The group finished as national runner-up in at the National FFA Horse Evaluation Career Development Event held in Louisville, KY, after capturing the state championship earlier this year. Students are tested on their ability to evaluate horses, and are also challenged to give oral presentations stating the reasons for their choices.
Kelly, Sierra and Michaela placed second overall at the recent horse judging competition, reported The Baltimore Sun. Kelly also placed second in overall horse judging, earning a $900 scholarship, and Brooke placed sixth individually earning a $600 scholarship, the paper reported.
