Thief Steals Tractor from Historic London Town

Staff are hoping to spread the word about the theft and have the tractor returned.

A tractor was stolen from Historic London Town and Gardens, and the Edgewater-based nonprofit is asking for the public's help in locating the equipment.

According to staff, it looked as though someone cut the chains from one of the gates to get to the tractor. The group considers the tractor a vital piece of equipment needed to complete many tasks on the property.

From the Historic London Town and Gardens Facebook page

"This tractor has been an invaluable tool for the restoration, maintenance and improvement of the gardens and grounds at Historic London Town. Numerous good works have been accomplished with the assistance of the tractor. The park's new Ground Level Green Roof, Picnic Grove, Stormwater Wetland, and New Woodland Trail System were all only made possible with the tractor that was paid for by donations."

According to the Facebook page, the stolen tractor is a blue, New Holland Compact Tractor, Model #T1110 with a 210TL bucket on the front and a York rake mounted in the rear.

Anyone with information on the tractor is asked to contact Historic London Town Gardens at 410-222-1919 or Anne Arundle County police at 410-222-8610.
