ThinkTank Offering New Services for Students

The education and therapy center will host a meditation for kids on August 19 and 20.

Thinktank Education and Therapy in Edgewater is offering two new services for local students.

Owner Stephanie Lowery said the center would offer a meditation session and a Social Skills Class for children with ADHD and other learning disorders.

Mindfulness Meditation will be offered as a two-day workshop on August 19 and 20 for kids ages 7-12. The sessions aim to help kids focus and regulate their own emotions so they can learn and train their bodies to pay attention, according to ThinkTank.

Lowery also said ThinkTank is introducing a Social Skills Class for kids with ADHD. The class starts September 11 and runs for 10 weeks. The class helps students learn to better interact with peers and their teachers.

Each week of the Social Skill Class is centered on a single topic including: friendship skills and joining groups; listening and conversational skills; recognizing tone and body language; and dealing with teasing and managing anger.
