Break-in at Miller Library Construction Site: Howard County Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Ellicott City: Construction Site Break-In

Between 4 p.m. on July 20 and 8:36 a.m. the following day, an unknown number of suspects pried open a door of the Howard County Library construction site, on the 9400 block of Frederick Road, stealing copper and tools.

Around 1:30 a.m. on July 22, a group of unknown suspects approached a victim in a parking garage near the 10400 block of Little Patuxent Parkway, assaulted him and stole his wallet and car keys. The suspects discarded the stolen property nearby.

At 2 a.m. on July 22, an unknown suspect approached a victim outside of the Safeway on the 5400 block of Harpers Farm Road, and stole his backpack. Police found the backpack in a dumpster but did not recover a laptop inside of the backpack.

Columbia: Break-In

Between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on July 21, an unknown suspect entered a residence on the 6300 block of Angel Rose Court and moved furniture after a victim doing yard work left a door unsecured.

Columbia: Break-In Attempt

Just before 4:30 p.m. on July 20, an unknown number of suspects attempted to enter a residence on the 7200 block of Swan Point Way, but failed to gain entry.

Columbia: Vehicle Theft

Shortly before 8 a.m. on July 21, a 1993 Buick Roadmaster was reported stolen from a residence on the 9400 block of Evergreen Avenue.

Between 11 p.m. on July 19 and 7:34 a.m. the following day, a white Ford work truck was reported stolen from the 8800 block of Flowerstock Row.

Jessup: Vehicle Thefts

Shortly before 3 p.m. on July 21, three trailers with Maine tags 1563367, 1739636 and 1079390 were reported stolen from American Wood Fibers, on the 8200 block of Dorsey Run Road.

Laurel: Vehicle Theft

Shortly after 2 p.m. on July 21, a black, gray and red Suzuki was reported stolen from a residence on the 10000 block of Washington Avenue.

Laurel: Vehicle Theft

At 11:35 a.m. on July 20, a blue 1990 Nissan with Maryland tags KBA241 was reported stolen from a residence on the 9300 block of Katie Lane.

Laurel: Robbery

Shortly before 3 a.m. on July 22, an unknown suspect approached a victim in his car on the 9700 block of Mountain Laurel Way, displayed a shotgun and demanded his clothing and cash. Police said they are investigating whether the incident was drug related.
