Fire Damages Vacant Building On Former Sheppard Pratt Campus In Ellicott City

The state fire marshal's office is investigating a fire that broke out late Sunday night in a vacant building.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Late Sunday night, Howard County firefighters were called to a vacant office building located in the 4100 block of College Avenue for a report of a fire.

Firefighters found a building on fire at the former Sheppard Pratt psychiatric campus. The majority of the blaze was extinguished within 45 minutes. No injuries were reported, the fire department said.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Maryland State Office of the Fire Marshal.
