Photo of the Day: Blue Moon

Remember hearing the phrase, "Once in a Blue Moon?"

Well, that implies that something doesn't happen very often at all.

Tonight's full moon is the second full moon this month, which earns it the designation of a Blue Moon.

I shot this picture of the moon as it rose over Miller's Island. When I captured the  blue moon, it looked more pink than blue.

According to astronomy experts, this is the last Blue Moon until 2015.
