Jeffrey Sinclair's condition has been upgraded from critical to serious condition.

The 18-year-old driver involved in a collision while leaving Mt. Hebron High School on Jan. 3 has been upgraded from critical to serious condition, according to Explore Howard.

Jeffrey Sinclair, 18, of Ellicott City, was leaving a Mt. Hebron parking lot after school on Thursday, Jan. 3, with four passengers in a Honda Civic. Police say Sinclair drove onto Route 99 in front of a Mack truck.

The other four passengers in the vehicle were not seriously injured.

Police confirmed this week Sinclair had failed to stop at a stop sign before driving out in front of the truck. Investigators said it did not appear the truck was speeding.
