Cash, Computers Taken from Stop One

Burglars snatched money from cash register, an ATM and video poker machines at a Middle River convenience store, police said.

More than $12,000, along with 200 cartons of cigarettes and 40 cell phones, were among the items stolen Friday night from a Middle River convenience store.

According to police reports, at 11:50 p.m., two unknown men disabled the alarm and video surveillance systems of the convenience store, located in the 1500 block of Martin Boulevard.

Once inside, the suspects went through the store’s safe and cash register, as well as the ATM and video poker machines, the report states. In addition to the cash and the cell phones, the men also allegedly stole 15 laptop computers being repaired by the store owner’s sons, who run a small computer repair business.

Additionally, according to police reports, the suspects poured bleach all over the store in an attempt to destroy evidence. In all, store owners reported a total loss of $27,704.99.
