Orioles Keep Throwback Ticket Prices Going

The Orioles are playing like it's 1997.

Ticket prices look more like 1992.

As the Orioles contend for their first playoff berth in 15 years, they announced Thursday they will continue a promotion that leaves tickets for select sections priced at 1992 values.

"Due to an overwhelming response and positive fan feedback," according to a news release, the Orioles will resume the cheap seats for the Sept. 24-26 series against Toronto.

Added bonus: the series includes a single-admission double-header on Sept. 24.

Eutaw Street Bleacher seats—regularly $19—are marked down to $4, while Left Field Lower Box seats—usually $32—cost just $8.

Fans who already purchased seats in those areas will receive a refund to make up for the difference in value. The refund will come in the form of a check, automatically delivered within the next month.

The discounts seem to have worked for the Rays series. After drawing 23,828 Tuesday and 26,076 Wednesday, an announced crowd of 25,130 turned out for Thursday's afternoon finale.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards opened in 1992. The Orioles have reached the playoffs just twice—in 1996 and 1997—since winning the 1983 World Series.
