Dreamgirls is a groundbreaking musical that takes place during a revolutionary period in American music history and gives audiences a behind-the-scenes look of the entertainment industry at the time. Loosely based on the career of The Supremes, three friends form “The Dreamettes” and learn hard lessons about love, trust and the changing tastes of the American public. Performances included the Americana music of Cruz Contreras, the jazz of Elijah Balbed, and stage performances of Black Nativity, Stories of Dr. Seuss, and Dogfight.
