Elderly Woman Fatally Struck By Car In Gaithersburg: Police
A 76-year-old woman died in a pedestrian collision on Muddy Branch Road and Harmony Hall Road Tuesday night, police said.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — A 76-year-old woman died in a pedestrian collision on Muddy Branch Road and Harmony Hall Road Tuesday night, police said.
Svetlan Bychkova, of the 17000 block of King James Way in Gaithersburg, was walking west across the southbound lanes of Muddy Branch Road when she was struck by a Lexus. The accident occurred at about 7:56 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
Sara Eugenia Rivera, 27, of Gaithersburg was the operator of the black 2006 Lexus ES 330. Police said Rivera was traveling south on Muddy Branch Road when she struck Bychkova. Rivera remained on the scene and provided information to investigators, police said.

Bychkova was transported to Suburban Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
This collision remains under investigation. Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed this collision to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240.773.6620.
