Gaithersburg Employer Ranks High On 'Top Workplace For 2018' List

GAITHERSBURG, MD — A Gaithersburg employer is among the top workplaces in the region, according to The Washington Post's newest ranking.

MedImmune, a biotechnology company in Gaithersburg, was ranked 16 on the list. The company has 1,263 local employees and 2,200 total employees. Founded in 1988, the company pursues 120 potential drug candidates that treat conditions as diverse as cancer and metabolic disease, The Post said.

The Post ranked 150 companies based on the highest ratings from employees. After the public nominated companies with at least 50 employees in the fall, 2,807 DC area employers were invited to take an employee survey. The survey looked at 24 factors, from effectiveness to managers and engagement. 341 companies in all took the survey.
