Gaithersburg Man's Disappearance Being Investigated As Homicide
Police say the case of a missing Gaithersburg man is now a homicide investigation.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — The August 2020 disappearance of a Gaithersburg man is no longer a missing persons case, but a homicide investigation, authorities announced Wednesday.
Jose Gonzalez, known as "Piti" to his friends, was reported missing by relatives on Aug. 23, according to Montgomery County police. He was 32 at the time of his disappearance.
"Through investigation, detectives have collected information that has led them to believe that Gonzalez was murdered," police said Wednesday. They did not say what kind of evidence they collected.
