Silver Spring McDonald's Robbery: Capitol Heights Man Charged

A man was charged with armed robbery in connection to a Silver Spring McDonald's, Montgomery County Police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Capitol Heights man was arrested and charged with armed robbery after Montgomery County Police received a tip that he had robbed a Silver Spring McDonald's in May, a police news release says.

Authorities say that Phillip Randall, 55, was waiting for his order at McDonald's when he went up to the cashier, pulled out a knife and demanded money. When the cashier ran into the kitchen, Randall used the knife to pry open the cash register and take cash, police said.

Randall was charged with armed robbery and is being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, police said.

The McDonald's is on the 8500 block of Colesville Road.
