Gaithersburg’s Farmers Markets In Full Swing First Week of May
City of Gaithersburg's two Farmers Markets start their summer seasons the first week of May with a wide array of locally grown produce.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — The City of Gaithersburg’s two Farmers Markets start their summer seasons the first week of May. They both feature a wide array of locally grown produce, with the variety changing weekly as crops reach maturity. On occasion, with the assortment changing regularly, you may also find meats, eggs, baked goods, cider and other unique beverages, honey, jams and jellies, granola, natural soaps, and fresh herbs, plants and flowers.
The Main Street Farmers & Artists Market is open year round, Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Pavilion at 301 Main Street, one block off of Kentlands Boulevard in Kentlands. Its robust summer version starts up on May 5. Main Street Farmers are joined by local artists and craftspeople with unique handcrafted items. You’ll also find purveyors of fresh prepared foods, potted plants and cut flowers.
The Fulks Corner Farmers Market is open Thursdays, May 3 through November 15, from 12:30 to 6 p.m. It’s located at the corner of Route 355 and Fulks Corner Avenue in Olde Towne. Fruits, vegetables, breads, teas, herb and spice blends, beef, eggs, beef jerky, and dog treats are for sale as they become available. This market does not feature artists and crafters.

Gaithersburg’s markets are partners in the Eat Fresh Maryland program, fully committed to increasing access to fresh, local food for Marylanders of all backgrounds and incomes through federal nutrition benefits. Both markets accept WIC, FVC and FMNP checks. Select farmers at both locations accept SNAP.
