29th Oktoberfest In Gaithersburg Returns With Food, Music, Beer, 3 Stages Of Entertainers
The 29th annual Gaithersburg Oktoberfest will feature German food and music, local beer, 3 stages of entertainment, inflatables and more.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — Oktoberfest in Gaithersburg is more than German food, music and beer — it will also feature pumpkin carving, cider-pressing and inflatables.
The City of Gaithersburg presents the 29th annual celebration of Oktoberfest on Sunday, Oct. 9, from noon to 5 p.m.
The festival takes place in and around the Arts Barn, Kentlands Mansion and Kentlands Village Green and along Main Street and Inspiration Lane.

Admission and parking are free. Free wheelchair accessible shuttle service will run regularly during festival hours to and from satellite parking at 101 Orchard Ridge Drive, just off of Quince Orchard Road.
Performances include the Alte Kameraden German Band and Alt-Washingtonia Bavarian Dancers. Savor traditional festival food while enjoying selections from local microbreweries.

Fall festivities include professional pumpkin carving and apple cider pressing demonstrations, fun inflatables, hands-on crafts, pumpkin and face painting, balloon twisting, bubbles, artists and crafters, family activities, and strolling entertainers.
Check out three stages of live entertainment with a variety of bands, stroll through the business expo, and explore restaurants and retail establishments within the Kentlands. Some activities have a nominal fee.
Starting at 6 a.m. on Oct. 9, city streets will be closed and will reopen about 9 p.m.
These streets will be affected:
- Main Street from Midtown to Market Street West
- Inspiration Lane from Main Street to Golden Ash; between Briscoe and Selby - Closed
- Inspiration Lane from Firehouse to Briscoe and Golden Ash to Selby Street - Limited access passes only access
- Firehouse Lane from Leeks lot to Inspiration Lane - Closed
- Kent Square: All
- Selby Street: All
- Kentlands Boulevard (both circles): No 360 traffic between 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Kentlands Boulevard (cross overs): At 7-11 and Whole Foods parking lots entrances - Closed all day
- Hart Road between Golden Ash and Firehouse Lane - Limited access (pass only)
