Gaithersburg Woman Sentenced to 21 Months In Credit Card Fraud
LaTrease Tamar Glover faces 21 months in jail followed by five years of supervised release for wire fraud in a credit card scheme.

A Gaithersburg woman was sentenced Tuesday to 21 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $70,000 in restitution for wire fraud in a credit card scheme, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
LaTrease Tamar Glover, 38, also faces five years of supervised release after serving her sentence.
According to the guilty plea, Glover received a credit card issued by the Government Printing Office (GPO) Credit Union and immediately rang up more than $5,000 in charges, the Justice Department said.

Glover and another individual agreed that the individual would make electronic payments on the GPO card via the GPO’s website, using false payee account information, according to the DOJ.
From April through August 2011, Glover continued to incur tens of thousands of dollars in charges on the GPO credit card and caused the other individual to make more than 40 fraudulent payments, totaling $283,174.81, to the GPO credit card via the GPO’s website.

The loss attributable to Glover as a result of the scheme is $70,911.48, according to the USDOJ.
