Gaithersburg's Farmers Markets Return Week Of July 6

The Casey Market and Main Street Farmers Market will operate with reduced hours and require customers to wear face coverings.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Gaithersburg's two farmers markets are back in business the week of July 6. Due to the ongoing public health crisis, both markets will operate with reduced hours.

The Casey Market — which relocated from Fulks Corner in Olde Towne to the Casey Community Center — is open Thursdays, July 9 through Nov. 19. Temporary hours of operation are 1 to 4 p.m.

The Main Street Farmers Market is open Saturdays, July 11 through Nov. 21, between 9 a.m. and noon. It's located at the Main Street Park & Pavilion at 301 Main St. — about a block away from Kentlands Boulevard. Artists won't be selling their pieces at the farmers market. However, there will be fresh fruits and vegetables, coffee, distilled spirits, bread, and baked goods for sale.

The return of these farmers markets coincide with phase two of the city's coronavirus recovery plan.

To help stem the spread of COVID-19, customers will be required to wear face coverings and social distance (at least six feet apart from those who don't belong to the same household). Service dogs are the only pets allowed at the farmers markets.
