Library System Launches Digital Streaming Platform For Members

Hoopla, a web and mobile media streaming platform, gives Montgomery County cardholders instant access to movies, music, e-books, and more.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) has launched a new web and mobile media streaming platform to provide cardholders with immediate access to movies, music, e-books, audiobooks, and TV.

The streaming platform, called Hoopla, went live on May 1.

MCPL will also add The New York Times to its digital services — granting cardholders electronic access to NYT's resources such as the Learning Network and Lens (photography blog).
