Man Killed In Crash On Midcounty Highway Monday Night
Police are still investigating the crash on Midcounty Highway that killed one man and injured another driver.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — A 49-year-old man was killed Wednesday evening when his vehicle collided with a Toyota Camry on Midcounty Highway, Montgomery County Police said.
The Toyota Camry was traveling south on Midcounty Highway toward Saybrooke Oaks Blvd. The man, whose name will not be released until his family is properly notified, was facing northbound on Midcounty Highway in his Honda CRV and tried to make a left turn onto westbound Saybrooke Oaks Blvd.
The cars crashed in the southbound lanes of Midcounty Highway. The Honda CRV then began to roll and struck a traffic light support pole, before "coming to rest" on its side, police said.

Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue. The Honda CRV driver was taken to the hospital, where he died. The Toyota Camry driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash, and is asking anyone with information to call CRU detectives at 240-773-6620.
