MoCo Food Drive Collects More Than 3,498 Pounds Of Goods
The food drive netted more than 3,498 pounds of goods for Montgomery County families and their pets. The next event is set for June 23.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — Thursday's food drive in Gaithersburg netted more than 3,498 pounds of goods for Montgomery County's cash-strapped families and their pets, according to officials.
The drive-in donation event was hosted by Montgomery County police, MCPAW, and Manna Food Center at police headquarters on Edison Park Drive. Residents were asked to donate instant oatmeal packets, canned beans, dog and cat food, and other goods to help their neighbors struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.
Police say the community donated 3,498 pounds of human food and a trailer full of pet food in a span of seven hours.

Another food drive is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23 at 603 Edmonston Drive in Rockville. More information will be released at a later date.
