Olney Homes Damaged During Tornado Touchdown On Friday
A Fire and Rescue spokesperson said several families were displaced after a tornado landed in MOCO on Friday.
OLNEY, MD — Several families were displaced after two tornadoes touched down in Montgomery County on Friday, knocking down trees, a Fire and Rescue representative said.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer said crews were in Olney neighborhoods to clean up on Saturday, and said there were no injuries.

"People were home," said Piringer about the occupants of the damaged homes in a video he posted to Twitter. "Everybody got the warning and they told me they were in the basements."
The area around Toddsbury Lane and Queen Elizabeth Drive had downed trees, Piringer said in the video posted to Twitter.

"Eyewitness accounts noted a swirling of debris on the Toddsbury Lane cul-de-sac," the National Weather Service said. The National Weather Service estimated wind speeds of 80 m.p.h., and said that somewhere from 12 to 15 trees were uprooted and snapped when the tornado touched down.
"The tornado damage path started at the 3600 block of Toddsbury Lane, where large limbs were downed, with limbs blown to the southeast and north, damagiving vehicles parked in the driveway of a residence," the National Weather Service said. "The tornado lifted before doing concentrated damage at the end of Toddsbury Lane in and around the cul de sac."
A second tornado landed in Maryland on Friday, heading from Charlotte Hall at the St. Mary's-Charles County line to near Benedict.
