Police Crack Down On Illegal Racing, Aggressive Driving In County
Maryland state troopers and Gaithersburg police officers issued more than 50 traffic tickets and citations in a 24-hour period last week.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — More than 50 traffic tickets and citations were issued in a 24-hour period last week in Montgomery County as part of a joint law enforcement effort to combat illegal street racing.
On the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 15, Maryland state troopers and Gaithersburg police officers responded to complaints of cars gatherings in the area of MD 124 and I-270, officials said.

- 2 criminal citations for disturbing the peace (modified exhaust systems)
Tuesday's crackdown came after the Maryland State Police Rockville Barrack, the Gaithersburg Police Department, and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police conducted a joint operation over Labor Day Weekend to address street racing and aggressive driving in the county.
