Police Seek Suspects In String Of Montgomery County Burglaries

The two suspects allegedly stole money from coin machines in apartment complexes around Montgomery County, police said.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Police are searching for two suspects who allegedly stole money from coin machines in apartment complexes around Montgomery County.

The suspects targeted apartments in Gaithersburg, Germantown and Montgomery Village between May 28 and July 13, police said.

"In all of the incidents the suspect(s) used an unknown tool to force entry into the coin machines and steal cash," a police statement reads.

Police think the two suspects are responsible for the following burglaries and thefts:

  • May 28: Burglary (forced entry into laundry room), at 19723 Crystal Rock Dr., Germantown, occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m.
  • June 10: Burglary (forced entry into laundry room), 18215 Lost Knife Circle, Montgomery Village, occurred between the hours of 8 to 4 p.m.
  • June 19 or 20: Burglary (forced entry into laundry room) 19723 Crystal Rock Drive, Germantown, occurred at an unknown time
  • June 21 or 22: Theft (from laundry room), 374 N Summit Avenue, Gaithersburg, occurred at an unknown time.
  • June 22: Burglary (forced entry into the community center), 18700 Walkers Choice Road, Montgomery Village, occurred at approximately 2 a.m. (Surveillance video obtained from this burglary)
  • June 21 or 22: Theft (from laundry room) 116 Duval Lane, Gaithersburg, occurred at an unknown time.
  • July 13 – July 13: Attempted Burglary (from laundry coin machine located outside of the building), 25 School Drive, Gaithersburg, approximately 4:21 a.m.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding these crimes to contact 5th District detectives at 240-773-6237 or the 6th District detectives at 240-773-5770.
