GAITHERSBURG, MD — A driver on the Intercounty Connector (ICC)/MD 200 called police around 12:51 a.m. Monday saying he believed his van had just been shot at, the Maryland Transportation Authority said.
The van was headed westbound when the driver noticed another car without its headlights on pull up on his passenger side, the news release says. The driver said he saw a flash and heard a loud noise from the other car, and a passenger in the second row of the van said they had been hit by something.
The van drove a bit longer before pulling over just before the Shady Grove Road exit and calling the police, the news release says.
